This 3 day Programme is aimed at Support Workers who are supporting people at end of life. It can be used as supportive learning and evidence for the Care Certificate.
The course will cover:
What is end of life care, how do we recognise those approaching end of life, how do we know what's important to them.
Understanding holistic assessment using a case study approach and the importance of documentation.
Symptom management and your role in this, focusing on non-drug interventions including pain, fatigue and breathlessness an overview of syringe pumps and care after death.
Communication, to include conversations with patients and families, communicating with other health care professionals, questioning and listening skills.
