24 Hour Clinical Advice Line

Here to Help

The Hospice is able to offer experienced palliative care advice by telephone 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Calls are taken by a specialist nurse with access to a hospice doctor if required.

Patients or those involved in their care can call for advice if worried or not sure what to do. All questions are valid and will be dealt with in a friendly, non-judgemental way. Our phone line is a busy one so please do leave us a message as we will always get back to you as soon as we can.

If you require urgent or immediate medical assistance, please call 111 or 999.

This advice line can be accessed by our healthcare professional colleagues in the community regardless of whether or not the patient they wish to discuss is known to St Peter's Hospice. The advice needed may be medical, nursing or about general palliative care issues.

Technical update

Due to global IT issues we are currently unable to access our electronic patient record system,  this issue is also affecting GP surgeries and district nurses. We are continuing to operate our services, using our business continuity plans.  As always, patient care and safety remain our absolute priority. We are actively monitoring and managing the situation and will provide updates here when we have them.
