Professional Placements

We welcome requests from qualified healthcare professionals who would like to understand hospice life and discover all that palliative care entails. The knowledge and understanding gained means that together, we can offer a more comprehensive service to help with the complex problems patients may present.

We typically offer placements to a range of professionals including nurses, social workers, varying grades of doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. We will also consider elective placements for student nurses.

Our placements range from a day's experience in a specific clinical area, to two weeks' wider experience across all clinical areas. We try to tailor placements to your specific aims and objectives, depending on our capacity and resources at the time.

We regularly run a professional visitor afternoon for students and staff working in health and social care to learn about the work of the hospice. You can find more information and a list of dates on our Professional Visitors page.
