Elaine Barter

1958 - 2020

In memory of an amazing wife, mum and nan. Even in your most difficult times, you always managed to think of others and give something back. We will do our best to keep up your fundraising. We will love and miss you always x

Elaine was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2018 and fought courageously for two years. During her battle with cancer, she was amazing and was always fund raising in way or another. She shaved her head when chemo started to make it fall out and raised over £1000. She loved crafting and making Christmas wreaths and other lovely things, which she sold to raise money for St Peter's Hospice.

She had been attending weekly therapy sessions in Bristol and loved everything about the hospice and it was her wish to spend her final moments there.

Elaine sadly passed away on 25 June 2020 after spending 2 weeks at the hospice. Even though we were experiencing difficult times with Covid-19, the staff were amazing and we will be very thankful that she was at peace during her last weeks of her life.

We will continue to fund raise on her behalf, so that you can continue to provide such an excellent service.

Elaine my dear sister in law. You were more like a sister to me. I have so many good memories of our times together. You were always someone I could laugh and joke with. Your sense of humour was infectious. You have left an enormous void in our family and will be missed forever. Love Alan.

Elaine my beloved sister and best friend. You battled so hard for two years to stay with us, but sadly your time to rest came on the 25th June. You showed such courage and determination and I am so proud to be your sister. Our lives will not be the same without you and I will love and miss you forever. Until we meet again your loving sister Lynn.
