Payroll Giving for Employees

How it works

Your donation comes directly from your salary before tax is deducted – so the tax you would have paid goes to the Hospice instead.

Donating £10 every month to St Peter's Hospice will only cost you

  • ‍£8 if you're a basic rate taxpayer
  • £6 if you're a higher rate taxpayer
  • £5.50 if you're an additional rate taxpayer

Becoming a regular giver means St Peter's Hospice can continue the vital work of providing care, compassion and support to patients and families facing life-limiting illness. Making your donation through Payroll Giving is a simple, tax-efficient way to help.

How to sign up

Ask your payroll department if the business is already signed up to Payroll Giving. If not, direct them to our information for employers, or the government website.

When they're set up, complete this form and give it to your payroll department.

Can I change my donation later? Can I make a one-off donation?

Payroll Giving is flexible. You can change the amount you donate each month at any time by contacting payroll.

You can also make one-off donations using Payroll Giving. You’ll get the same tax relief on a one-off donation, so it can make a significant difference to the amount we receive as a charity.

I already give with Gift Aid. Is this different?

Payroll Giving comes directly from your wages or pension. Unlike Gift Aid, it can offer tax relief on higher rate and additional rate tax payers' donations, so if you’re a higher earner you can give more. Charities have to claim Gift Aid back, but Payroll Giving is simpler – the tax relief comes directly to us.
