Nature Based Grief Drop-In Groups

At St Peter's, we recognise that joining a group can feel like a significant step when you are grieving. We want to make that step as gentle and supportive as possible.

The Psychological Therapies Team at St Peter's is pleased to be offering nature based drop in groups. These are part of our bereavement support for people experiencing loss of a loved one who died from an incurable illness.

Spending time in nature can help reduce stress, invite quiet reflection, and provide a safe space to hold the large and complex feelings that often accompany grief.

These outdoor sessions offer a calm, welcoming environment for anyone who may find comfort in nature connection while navigating loss.

What the sessions offer:

  • Lightly guided nature based practices

  • Opportunities for grounding and quiet reflection and sharing

  • Optional supportive conversation with a therapist and trained volunteers

  • A relaxed, informal group with no booking required

  • Grief education and support

Sessions will be led by a Senior Psychotherapist / Eco Therapist with support from qualified nature based practitioners and will run once a month at Ham Green House in Pill (Penny Brohn Centre), Chapel Pill Lane, BS20 0HH.

Sessions will be running 1-2.30pm on 23 June, 21 July and 25 August. Please arrive in Penny Brohn reception to start at 1pm.

Sessions will be based indoors as well as outdoors so please arrive with appropriate footwear and layers of warm / waterproof clothing.

Car parking, accessible toilets and refreshments provided.

You are welcome to attend these sessions by turning up on the day. If you would like to speak to us about the sessions, you can call us on  0117 915 9454, 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, please do leave a message.
