St Peter's Hospice has been selected as a finalist for this year's Bristol Life Awards which celebrate the very best of Bristol.
The Hospice has been shortlisted in the charity category for our work during 2021 when we had to respond to the challenges brought by the pandemic and an increase in demand for our services.
The team quickly adapted by providing sessions virtually, both by phone and video calls to support our clients. Our Emotional and Psychological Support Teams carried out 28% more assessments and support sessions than in the previous year and the number of patients referred for support also rose considerably, showing a distinct increase in need for this service during the past year.
We're one charity among many who have had to adapt our working practices and find a creative solution to maintain our services during the pandemic. Good luck to everyone who has been selected in the different categories!
Our success will be celebrated at the Finalist and Sponsor's reception on April 12, followed by the reveal of the winner at a gala dinner on May 18.
Back to NewsYou may notice that our website has a new look. Research carried out last year revealed there were many barriers to people accessing our support, so our refreshed branding aims to help break down misconceptions about who we are and what we do.
This is part of a bigger piece of work for us - we're aiming to double the number of people we support by 2030.
