Norman Routledge, was the kindest, most generous and quietly brilliant man. He gave his heart and soul to everyone he met and to every project he took on. Humble, funny, and full of warmth, he always looked for the positive, the light at the end of the tunnel and could find a silver lining in even the hardest moments. He was a doer, a go-getter, someone who inspired and motivated everyone around him. He supported and helped anyone in need, often without ever mentioning it. In February this year he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which he jokingly named “Bertie the bump.” His attitude was simple: he wanted to live, live, live until he didn’t. He did exactly that, right up until his final breath! St Peter’s staff cared for him with such compassion, dignity and love. We are forever grateful, and we want to raise as much as we can to support the incredible work they do.
