Tour de Bristol: Virtual Ride

Get Fundraising

St Peter's Hospice is there for patients and families across greater Bristol, during the most difficult of times. All of our care is provided free of charge, but it costs us around £22,000 a day to provide that care. We could not do the work that we do without the incredible generosity of our supporters and participants. Your contribution, however big or small, makes a difference to the many people we care for every year.

Online Page

Setting up an online fundraising page is the easiest way to start gathering sponsorship and spreading the message about the challenge you’re taking on. You can do this through JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving. You can personalise your page by including photos and sharing your story - supporters will love to read about what or who has inspired you to get on your bike for St Peter’s Hospice.

Add updates to your page as you train, share it on your social media and even add the link to your email signature.

Sponsorship Form

Download a sponsorship form here to show friends and family, as well as keeping a copy on your desk or pinned on a noticeboard.

Ask your sponsors to fill in all the boxes and their home address as well as ticking the Gift Aid box so that we can claim an extra 25% on top of their kind donation. Just think - if you raised £100 and everyone did this, we could claim an extra £25 of Gift Aid, taking the total you have raised for us to £125.

If you are planning any fundraising events such as a virtual quiz, sweepstake or coffee morning to raise sponsorship for the Tour de Bristol, get in touch on at any time for any fundraising materials and so we can support you all the way!

Run a sweepstake

Bring out your friends and colleagues' competitive side with our 'Guess my time' sweepstake! Download a form here and ask everyone to predict what time they think it will take you to complete the course in exchange for a donation. Check the time once you've crossed your finishline and then whoever guessed the closest gets a prize - it could be a bottle of wine, half the cash from all the guesses, or even the offer of making them a cup of tea every day for a week. A great way to raise some extra funds for the Hospice!

Fundraising Tips

  • Start as early as you possibly can - don't leave it to the last minute!
  • Set up a Justgiving or ViginMoneyGiving page, it's the quickest and easiest way to spread the message about your challenge and to collect sponsorship without having to chase anyone for cash. Personalise your page with your story, photos, updates and even link it to Strava.
  • Tick the Gift Aid box on the form and include full names and home addresses - it means that the Government will pay St Peter’s Hospice an extra 25p for every £1 that's donated at no extra cost to your sponsor.
  • Get your family, friends and colleagues to help you spread the word by sharing your page on social media os passing round a sponsorship form.
  • Download our sweepstake form and collect guesses on how fast you'll complete the course in exchange for donations, and then the closest guess wins a prize.
  • Put a collection box out on the till of your local shop, café or pub. Or, put one of our cardboard collection boxes in the office by the biscuit tin. Get in touch with our team on 01275 391400 to get a collection box.
