Himalaya Trek

Fundraising Support

By taking on this incredible challenge, you'll not only experience a magical part of the world and unforgettable trek, but you'll also be raising a total for the Hospice that will make a big difference.

Everyone with a life limiting illness deserves access to the best possible care and to live their final days with dignity. Every year St Peter’s Hospice makes a difference in the lives of thousands of patients and their families when it matters most. We could not do the work that we do without the incredible generosity of our supporters and participants. Every pound you raise or donate by taking on this challenge makes a difference to the lives of the many people we care for every year.

And don't worry about the fundraising target, as when you sign up to join the team you’ll get a dedicated fundraising contact who will be there to support and advise you every step along the way.

Online Page

Setting up an online fundraising page is the easiest way to start gathering sponsorship and spreading the message about the challenge you’re taking on. Set up a JustGiving page and personalise it by adding photos, a fundraising target, and sharing your story - supporters will love to read about what or who has inspired you to take on such an epic challenge for St Peter’s Hospice.

Add updates to your page as you train, share it on your social media and even add the link to your email signature. Share it far and wide! You'll be surprised at just how wonderfully generous people can be.

Ask your supporters to tick the Gift Aid box if they're eligible so we can claim an extra 25% on top of their kind donation.

Fundraising ideas

Go big and organise a large fundraising event that will bring in a large chunk of the target in one go, like a summer party, barn dance, race night or a sponsored event like a firewalk.

Or, you can go little and often by doing some form of fundraising every month and watch as the total adds up. It could be a combination of a JustGiving page, holding bucket collections, cake sales and office fundraisers, boot sales and a quiz night throughout the year that'll help you smash the fundraising target while still having a lot of fun along the way.

We're here to provide resources for whatever you're planning, such as collection buckets, t-shirts, banners, balloons, contactless donation points and more. We'll also support with getting collection licenses, sourcing raffle prizes or finding opportunities to hold a collection.

Make your bucket collection stand out by borrowing our Lenny mascot costume! He always attracts attention and is a hit with the kids.

Fundraising Tips

  • Start as early as you possibly can, and make sure to keep reminding everyone!
  • Make the first donation on a sponsorship form for a good amount, and you'll see the next donors following their lead
  • Put a collection box out on the till of your local shop, café or pub. Or, put one of our cardboard collection boxes or a DIY collection jar in the office by the biscuit tin.
  • Does your company match fund? An incredible way to add to your total, and even sometimes double it!
  • Get friends and family involved too, as they can fundraise on your behalf. The total they raise can be added to your overall target.
  • Think about what your passions are and what you enjoy doing. If you're a runner, organise a fancy dress 5k fun run. If you sing, try busking! If you like to craft, could you make things to sell?
