Acton Aid Summer Concerts

Why not treat yourself to some fabulous entertainment and raise some much needed funds for St Peter's Hospice at the same time?

Acton Aid, a fundraising group in Iron Acton, are putting on two brilliant outdoor concerts this summer. They are being held in the Iron Acton Parish Meadows and, while being highly professional with a superb stage and sound systems, they are very friendly and great fun, especially if you have a friend (or more!) to take along.

Friday 30 June - Joey the Lips and Flash (Queen tribute)

First, on Friday 30 June, leave the working week behind you for 'Mash in the Meadows'. Gates open from 18.00 and the first act on at 19.00 – Joey The Lips, claiming to be the "nation's funkiest 10 piece band" playing some of the best loved hits and absolutely certain to get your toes tapping and up in front of the stage 'throwing some shapes'. Then the main act, Flash, a Queen Tribute act, completely authentic performance and 'as close as it gets' according to the BBC. They play all over England and Wales and for 'one night only' they are coming to Iron Acton and guaranteed to get everyone on their feet!

Saturday 1 July - Russell Watson

Then for Saturday 1 July, a perfect way to enjoy an English summers evening, Acton Aid is thrilled to have secured a genuine A list star – Russell Watson, the world famous English Tenor, with support performances from the Bristol Millennium Orchestra and the Iron Acton Community Choir, all ending in a exhilarating 'last night of the proms' style finale and fireworks to ensure the night ends with a bang! Russell is a brilliant performer as well as a singer and will be sure to make the evening very memorable.

Both events are supported with sensibly priced food and drink options and attendees of the Russell Watson event are welcome to bring a picnic. You are also welcome to bring chairs to both events.
