Going into a second lockdown

Shops Stories

In light of the government’s most recent announcement, we have taken the devastating but necessary decision to close all of our charity shops again. This will have a huge impact on the Hospice’s finances, at a time when we are already struggling significantly with the effects of the last lockdown. But, we know that this is the right thing to do to protect you, our staff and our volunteers.

The Hospice itself is still open, and our clinical teams will go on supporting people at the Hospice in Brentry, and in people’s homes. If you have any concerns at all about a friend or family with a life-limiting illness, you can call our 24 hour Clinical Advice line on 0117 915 9430.

This will also affect our fundraising events, and we will be able to give you more of an update on that soon.

The support that you, the people of Bristol and beyond, gave us during the last lockdown was immense and we can’t thank you enough. There are so many ways you can still be part of the Hospice and support us through this next lockdown, including:

Sadly, our shops will not be able to accept any donations whilst they are closed. Please don’t leave anything outside the shops during this time, this is classed as fly-tipping and you may be fined.

We can’t wait to welcome you and your wonderful donations back once we do re-open, just in time for some Christmas shopping!

Thank you, as always, for supporting your local Hospice.
