Meet Nikki, Manager at our Southville shop

Employee Stories

Hello, I'm Nikki and I’m the Manager at the St Peter's Hospice charity shop in Southville.

I've worked for the Hospice since 2020, having started as a volunteer in another of the Hospice's shops. I had a background in retail already, so it was an easy choice to apply for a job that would have such a rewarding outcome for all the hard work we put in daily.

Everyday, we have to sort through the donations to keep the shop stocked up ready for our customers, as well as keeping the shop floor appealing and vibrant. More work goes on behind the scenes, at the back of house, than you might realise.

Nikki, Assistant Manager at our Southville shop

No day is ever the same at the shop and we are always hands on with the whole team getting involved, including our fab volunteers who we can always rely on and who we'd be lost without!

When we were able to reopen after the lockdowns, the kindness we received from lots of our customers and also being able to welcome our lovely volunteers back too was really special.

All the work we do is worthwhile when we see the impact our shop is making to help the Hospice keep doing its outstanding work. The income we generate has a direct effect that allows the nurses, doctors, and care teams to make a difference to an individual's life and the loved ones around them.

If you're interested in retail opportunities at St Peter's Hospice, we'd love to hear from you. Take a look at our retail roles on our current vacancies page.
