This year, the Christmas Tree Collection is kindly supported by our Delivery Partner, Arthur David. We spoke to them ahead of the event...
Arthur David, Food with Service was started in 1962 by Arthur & Diana David. They built the business by providing excellent customer service, even delivering to some clients on Christmas Day.
Originally it provided daily deliveries of fresh fruit and veg but in recent years has expanded to provide fine food ingredients as well.
Arthur David has 5 core values of Customer Service, Quality, Team work, Excellence and respect. It employs over 440 local people and delivers to customers throughout the South West of England and South Wales.
We were absolutely amazed by the work that St Peter's Hospice deliver to people who need it most. We have a large fleet of vans and felt that it would be a great way of engaging our teams of helpers whilst raising some much needed funds for the charity. We are very proud to say we are associated. It will be brilliant to see our vans out on the road picking up the trees on 5 and 6 January.
Christmas is a busy time for Arthur David as we supply our customers for their Christmas parties and events. There is a really great feel around the place as we all work together to get to the big day. We keep the troops fed and watered with one of our free staff BBQs as the busy period starts to ramp up.
Our prep room works especially hard as we provide our customers with their ready prepared produce. Whether a restaurant, hotel or school we are ready to service their needs.
We also provide all our staff with a free Christmas hamper of goods and a fresh turkey to make sure everyone has the best Christmas they can have with their families. To see hundreds of staff meet up to pick these hampers is a sight to behold.
We can't wait to get stuck in picking up the trees across Bristol. Our transport team will be using our route planning software to make sure the routes are as efficient as they can be. We are so proud to be doing something great for such a special charity.
It is also a great way of our teams getting together to show what can be achieved. People who never normally get to be on a van will be there ready and willing to go. We may even go to the pub afterwards to de-brief!
