Education
Would you like to know more about the work of the Hospice or improve your clinical skills in End of Life Care?
At St Peter's Hospice, observations of others who are dealing with clinical situations is a possible way of experiencing events that occur in palliative care situations.
We welcome requests from qualified healthcare professionals for a placement that can cover a period of three days up to two weeks.
A placement will aim to provide an overview of the services available within the Hospice. By identifying your individual learning needs, we will try to provide a placement programme to meet your aims and learning objectives.
Information:
- Placements are only available for qualified, healthcare professionals
- Professionals need a current CRB and indemnity insurance
- No placements are available between September and the end of December of any year (whilst 5yr medical students are on placement at the Hospice)
- We are unable to accommodate single day visits
Student Nurses:
- It is possible to request an elective placement at the Hospice, however we can only accommodate two student nurses at a time and these placements are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
To enquire about a professional placement please contact the education team on 0117 9159465 or email us at education@stpetershospice.org
Alternatively, we offer free professional visitors afternoons throughout the year.
