Introduction

Over the last 10yrs we have become an established centre for Palliative Care education. The beliefs and values that underpin our approach to teaching are based on the principles of adult education and life long learning, including:-

  • An appreciation of individuals existing knowledge and skills
  • Learning needs to relate to practice
  • Individuals have a huge amount of potential
  • Individuals learn best in a supportive environment

Our courses adopt a multi-professional approach to education to ensure the content reflects current needs and issues. Contributors are drawn from a wide range of professions with proven expertise in Palliative Care, Education and other related areas of practice.

We collaborate with the University of the West of England to provide a range of Higher Education modules. We also work closely with Avon, Somerset & Wiltshire Cancer Services and other local education providers to develop a coordinated and co-operative approach to Palliative Care Education across Bristol and the region.
