Education
We offer two certificate courses aimed at increasing skills and knowledge in relation to End of Life Care.
These courses entail three full-days of study, spaced over a four week period, and take place at St Peter’s Hospice, Brentry.
The course offered at Assistant level, (open to HCA’s, Nursing Auxiliaries and Senior Carers) is based on Communication Skills, Understanding Symptoms, Maintaining Comfort and Wellbeing, and Best Practice in End of Life Care.
The course offered at Practitioner level is open to RN’s, and is specific to Symptom Management at End of Life, including Assessment and Care Planning.
Both courses are informed by the Common Core Competencies for End of Life Care (Skills for Health, Skills for Care) and support the National End of Life Care Strategy.
