St Peter's People How to Find Us History Ann's Story

St Peter's Hospice:

  • is the Bristol hospice with buildings at Knowle and Brentry,
  • provides specialist care and support to around 1600 local people with an incurable illness every year, as well as supporting their families and children;
  • is a highly specialised service offering two In-patient units, two Day Hospices, a Lymphoedema clinic, Physio and Occupational Therapists, a Chaplain and an experienced Social Work team. In addition we have an Education Department offering professional training in palliative care and associated subjects;
  • is community based - our specialist nurses help care for the majority of our patients in their own homes;
  • is dependent on the community and businesses of Bristol for £4 million of funding every year.

  • Our Community Nurse Specialist Team made 4,453 home visits last year
  • 20,296 telephone calls were made to patients
  • 412 patients died at home
  • 57 patients had a diagnosis other than cancer
  • 48 patients were visited for over a year
  • 146 patients were discharged
